Im an African American and i am also half indian and asian but i appear to be a just a brown skinned girl with long hair and chinese eyes. i have many dreams and goals for my life and one of them is to move to india from alabama to become a dancer i have currently started my study in dances like Bharatanatyam , Kathak ,Odissi, and etc. but im also interested in bollywood films my question is would i be accepted into a bollywood film since the only females that are betrayed in these films have lighter skin and jeweled eyes?

Girl, STOP! Never ever question your ability because of the way you look. people are gonna hate on you even if your blonde with blue eyes and 100 pounds. Your black so you gotta push a little harder always. But no matter what, don’t let that be a reason why you can’t do sumthin. Even if they try to break you. You go and do whatever it is that God has put on your heart . do it with your chin up and a big smile on Your beautiful brown face! What dont kill you will make you stronger. many blessings to you my sista

Bollywood industry is definitely biased. But you can definitely give it all a try if you are seriously interested.. But also have backup plans for your career and not just depend on the movie industry. All the best for you anyway..

hello!
i’m Indian too!! YAY!!
um..its worth it
Bollywood has gotten so advanced that they are taking anyone now for acting….
Just be confident!!!
I’m sure you are very pretty.
as long as you show your Indian heritage…you can make it big!!!

I think you are already setting yourself up to fail with the attitude you have. I’m also sure that when you do fail you will blame others, claim some sort of bias, and resent others for your shortcomings….when all along it was your doing, the voices in your head making you paranoid…which is common in this day where victomology is embraced before strength, hard work, and perseverance is even considered. Only YOU can stand in the way of your dreams and goals - and your defensive victim attitude will most certainly be your worst enemy.
That being said….I’ve known many performers of all colors. They wanted….they went out and got it. So…if you “just forget it,” it will be your own fault, and show that you apparently didn’t want it that bad.

Really you should never question if your dreams are worth the time and trouble. You already know the answer to your own question because you’re still pursuing the study of dance.
There’s only one way for sure to find out if you’ll be rejected or not and that’s to actually go to India and try. Never leave yourself wondering “what if” because it will haunt you for the rest of your life.
Good luck friend. Dance your Indian, Asian, African *** off!

go for it, you’ll regret it if you don’t try

I don’t see why you wouldn’t be accepted if you work hard and are a good dancer. While you may not be full blooded Indian, you do have it in you. You never know until you try but I don’t really know what their requirements are or much about their country. How are you treated in the places you are dancing in? If you are treated well………..then I see no reason why you can’t try Bollywood. Good luck and remember that not everyone, even if full blooded, will be accepted. Just dance on! Good luck to you.
