My friend just told me that there is a little rule at Cinemark theaters that minors cant see a rated R movie at a certain time at night even if there is an adult present.
Is this true?

Maybe to stop minors from coming into the movies with slightly older “adult” friends. If its that big of a deal just get the adult to act a little tiffed and as to speak to the manager. As long as its not a big group of children they probably will let you in.

no that’s not true they’re lying.

It depends on the theatre in question. Most don’t have a rule like that, but there are some that have “special” nights where no one under a certain age is allowed.

Sounds like your friend is a liar.

Some theaters have rules about minors. There are some I have been to that don’t allow minors at all past a certain time, even for less than R rated movies, which is great for me…no noisy kids throwing popcorn.
Why don’t you check the Cinemark website or call the theater you are trying to go to?
