Several years ago I saw a film and I can’t remember the title of it. It’s from some East Asian country, but don’t remember which. It’s a story, set in the distant past, about a group of teenagers living in the forest (?) who were all training in different forms of martial arts. Near the beginning of the film their “leader” pairs each kid with another, and then sends them off into the woods, instructing them to fight their partner to the death. That’s all I remember. If anyone knows what film this is, I’d love to know.

  1. Athena Says:

It is def NOT Battle Royale.
That’s the Japanese movie Azumi, the first one.
“Prior to setting out on their mission, their master orders his students to “pair up” with each others’ best friend and proceed to kill each other, thus out of 10 students only five will remain to proceed with the mission.”
There is a sequel to it, Azumi: Death or Love.http://www.mysoju.com/azumi/http://www.mysoju.com/azumi-2-death-or-l…
