I mean, I’ve never seen an Asian be the main character. What kind of racism is this???!?

well take a look and go to Hong kong … all whites are just their driver or body guards actors there and asians are the main character … how ’bout that ? It’s all about the demographic issues … not racism!

It’s changing, Asians are starting to get a little more recognition though it’s slow in coming. You do know that 2 of the main characters on Lost are Korean, played by Koreans, speaking Korean. In fact, the male Korean actor (Daniel Dae Kim) was voted sexiest man by People or some such magazine and his counterpart played by Yun Jim Kim was featured on the cover of and had a photo spread in the current issue of Stuff magazine.
Even though Asians as doctors is somewhat of a stereotype, there is a certain element of truth to it. There are a lot of Asians in the medical field, amongst a lot of Chinese families there are really only 3 choices of professions for their children, they are: doctor, lawyer, or engineer. So there is something behind the casting of Asians as doctors.

I think you meant stereo type, it’s rather different from racism. and remember it used to be that Asians were only casted as railroad laborers with the piggy tail and all, so there has been progress over the years. I am Asian, I don’t see why it’s such a big deal and quite frankly, we don’t need the stupid movie industry’s validation to feel good about ourselves.

Hollywood is fricking racist. I don’t watch their movies. Bollywood is better.
