For a prostitute, you pay for sex. This is illegal. To make a pornography, you pay someone to have sex on camera. How is this different? Theoretically if I wanted to hire a prostitute, I could give my buddy the money, he could then pay her to “star in an adult film” I would be the co star. Then I’d have basically paid for sex. Albeit through a more circuitous route. How are these two things any different other than pornography involves other people? Is the government saying more people should be involved in sex than just two? Doesn’t anyone realize this fundamental flaw?

True…So, next time you pick up a prostitute, not telling you to but just a suggestion, and a cop rolls by, just tell the cop that you’re having her star in your adult film, see what happens.
But, most likely due to the diseases, and children on the street as well.
Oh yeah, I thought prostitution was legal in Las Vegas? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?

1. Prostitution is not illegal in all states, only some.
2. Pornography is heavily regulated and all producers must be licensed.
3. The Supreme Court has decided that pornography may be covered under the 1st amendment as free speech provided that it has some redeeming value (doesn’t appeal soley to the “prurient interest”)
4. Obscenity (the crime of taking pornography too far) is still illegal in many states, but the District Attorneys do not prosecute it often.

I would say…
maybe health standards and the spreading of disease?
AIDS spread so much in parts of Africa in part to prostitution.
The pornography industry makes strides to test “actors”.
