We were MADE to watch Threads at school at 11 YEARS OLD as part of a humanties class. We were watching it in 2 parts but I only ever saw the 1st one (up to just after where the bomb has gone off and the little lad is dead with the birds) because it affected me so badly. I was absolutley terrified had bad nightmares and brought on a panic attacks. I was so badly traumatised my parents let me "skive" the 2nd part and pretend to be ill that day. I was seriously in such a bad way that if anyone mentioned it I would shake!! I'm a big martial arts movie fan. I really like early late 80's to early 90's films. Theres one particular film I saw when I was a kid; forgive me I dont remember who the actors were or the entire story line but There was this american soldier who like faught in vietnam or something and he had two sons, one back in the states and one he fathered in vietnam with an asian woman. i remember watching it when I was about 7 - so 8 years ago. I remember it being scary (even though it probably isn't to an adult) and it was about a little boy (who i remember being fat) and his two aunts (I think that they were his aunts but i could be making that up) were witches. His aunts changed him into a mouse or a rat or something at a big party and he shrunk into his clothes. There were also other mice children in the film. Sorry thats all I can remember. Hi all, i saw a film about 15 years ago, i think it was set in about the 17th or18th century. (It was spoken in French, or some other European language-It was subtitled) It was about about a really good child Chess player. I remember the scene where about 6 children are playing this master Chess player for fun, and the adult beats all the children players, but one of the kids beats him and he goes berserk. I don't mean to sound super sensitive, I'm well aware Watchmen was just a movie, but as I watched it I noticed there was absolutely no strong female characters in the film at all. All but one of the female characters were raped or killed or both. The original Silk Specter - nearly raped, abused The pregnant asian woman - killed The lesbian hero in opening credits - killed The little girl, victim of the pedophile - raped and killed The second Silk Specter and one of the main heroes of the film doesn't really do much except have a few fight scenes, then flip flop from male hero to male hero and look sexy and get naked. I usually don't notice stuff like this in movies, but this particular film really bugged me. Did any of you notice these things or was it just me? [+]
