Desperatlely seeking info on a cartoon I had about what I can only describe as animal-shaped robot/vehicles. Possibly east-asian in origin. This was bought for me on vhs circa. '88/'89 in England. I believe I got it at the same time as nutcracker fantasy stop-motion film(if that's of any relevance). I only remember it very vaguely. I'm sure there were heroes and villains but I don't remember any. I remember a pig shaped vehicle/robot that could transform and burrow and a monkey/ape shaped vehicle/robot. I'm not even sure if it was a film or collection of episodes. Some or all of it may have had a medieval/early-modern european setting and I also can't seem to shake the notion of a pied piper motif in there somewhere. I heard that Wicked the book is a lot more adult-themed and the musical had a change to it so that it would be easier to understand and aimed at a suitable audience, I reckon. But some authors hate their novels to be changed, but Gregory Maguire loved the musical Wicked! It is indeed fantastic! But PL Travers, who wrote Mary Poppins, did not like the film at all because it was changed so much. Wicked was different as well, but Maguire still enjoyed it.
